Milestone Appoints Barbara Burger to Board

HOUSTON, Texas – February 27, 2024 – Milestone Environmental Services, LLC (“Milestone” or the “Company”), a leading environmental services and carbon management company and the largest energy waste sequestration company in the United States, today announced that Barbara J. Burger, PhD, has been appointed to the Company’s Board of Managers, effective February 17, 2024.

Dr. Burger is a 34-year veteran of Chevron who completed her corporate career in 2022, serving most recently as Vice President, Innovation and President of Chevron Technology Ventures (“CTV”). During her career, Dr. Burger held leadership positions across several of the company’s businesses, including International Marketing, Chemicals, Technology Marketing, Lubricants, Ventures, and Innovation.

Actively involved in a wide range of civic and industry board and advisory positions, Dr. Burger remains focused on the big challenges in energy transition, equity, and access to education. She serves as a Senior Advisor to Lazard, on the Board of Directors of Heliogen, on the Emerald Technology Ventures Advisory Council, as a Senior Advisor to Energy Impact Partners, and as an Advisor to Marunouchi Innovation Partners, to name a few. Dr. Burger also remains committed to the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Activate, and is the President of the Board of Directors of the Houston Symphony.

Dr. Burger holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Rochester, a doctoral degree in chemistry from the California Institute of Technology, and an academic honor MBA in finance from the University of California, Berkeley.
