Milestone Announces New Appointments to Executive Leadership Team

HOUSTON, Texas – May 3, 2022 – Milestone Environmental Services (“Milestone”), one of the largest independent providers of energy waste sequestration services in the U.S., and Milestone Carbon, a division of Milestone that offers turnkey solutions for the permanent geological sequestration of CO₂ for significant industrial emitters, today announced the addition of Carolina Ortega as Vice President of Sustainability and Vinod Pathrose as Vice President of Commercial, respectively.

Carolina Ortega joined Milestone on April 18, 2022, as Vice President of Sustainability, reporting to Milestone President and CEO Gabriel Rio. In her new role, she oversees all aspects of ESG data collection and reporting, including both mandatory and voluntary disclosures. Ortega also is responsible for the development and communication of the company’s proven environmental and sustainability strategy. A subject matter expert in sustainability and environmental impact, she brings with her more than 20 years of experience developing corporate-wide sustainability strategies, as well as assessing emerging trends and environmental programs within the energy industry. Having held Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) positions with companies such as Noble Energy (now part of Chevron), Oxy, and Marathon, Ortega will champion Milestone’s sustainability programs to all stakeholders, including C-suite officers, industry leaders, and boards of directors.

Vinod Pathrose joined Milestone Carbon as Vice President of Commercial on April 25, 2022. Reporting to Milestone Carbon Senior Vice President Chris Davis, Pathrose is responsible for commercial activities and engagements with emitters and CO₂ infrastructure owners. A commercial leader with 15 years of experience working on multi-stakeholder energy and infrastructure projects around the world, he specializes in negotiations across value chains. Pathrose began his career at ExxonMobil in the corporate strategy and planning department before taking on increasing responsibilities in different businesses and projects across the oil and gas sector, including LNG, trading, and shipping.

“Vinod has an impressive track record of commercial project management, from negotiations to operational execution, and his expertise will add tremendous value to the Milestone Carbon team,” said Davis. “Vinod’s extensive familiarity with commercial design, negotiations, and project development will play a critical role in helping our customers achieve their carbon abatement goals.”

Additionally, Davis, who joined Milestone as Vice President of Carbon Sequestration in July 2021, was promoted in April 2022 to Senior Vice President of the newly formed Milestone Carbon division.
